I played this game for hundreds of hours, then during a move to a new house I lost it. I spent years looking for it but could never find it.

I got distracted with newer games like Company of Heroes, Men of War, etc. My buddy and I brought it up in conversation and I knew I had to buy it. Although the graphics are a bit dated, game play is based on who can build the most deadly things the quickest, and most of the fun being online, it still holds close to my heart. Sadly with the disbanding of Game Spy, all online game play no longer is possible.

Some of the greatest battles took place on user created maps that usually contained a choke point and a lot of carnage. One thing about this game, is that the level editor is incredibly easy to use. Although I did find that with AI controlled ships, they will not deploy an HQ to land and this will end them due to lack of resources, doesn't require a single bullet.

Great game but overpriced and lacking the joys of multiplayer. First of all, this game has the wrong title. If you love the board game, you will be sadly disappointed. If you want the board game on PC, you can still find it offered by other vendors but the AI is horrible. Aside from that, the RTS in this game is great and very addicting. There are flaws of course, such as the fact that you have to constantly pause the game to issue commands because your units are too stupid to show any logic for themselves, such as being able to get out of the battle before being wiped out or to fix a burning building they are standing right next to, etc.

I used to play this game as a kid, but do to wear and tear I lost my discs. The fact I found the game on Amazon was almost like the planets had aligned. The game box I got was in amazing condition, and the game works on my PC which I was worried about.

This is legit like a piece of my childhood from happier times has come back to me. Didn't expect to receive the whole game with everything in the box, but it was just as advertised, as new as could be.

Awesome find, I totally recommend it. I bought this game hoping to answer some 'What if' questions about history i. There are two aspects to this game. The main aspect is a division of the world into about 20 or so blocks.

You create divisions of infantry, mechanized infantry or armor, each with their own marker. You move these markers around the globe and attack enemies. You can win a game in an hour. There is a second aspect to this game that allows you to see units on a smaller level as infantry, tanks, etc. The movement of these units is very cumbersome and non-intuitive.

I uninstalled this game after a couple of days. As freeware it might be passable, but doubtful even then.

I bought this game thinking it would be along the same line as Hasbro Interactive - where you could purchase bombers and fighters on the world map and increase techknowledgey. I was hoping for something similar to the board came. As I don't have any friends that have the time to play the board game - some times the board game can last for days and as you whomp your friends, people tend to not play against you so much.

With this game, I found it too easy to win in the World War Two mode as the Germans as it only takes me three rounds to win. Playing as the Americans, as stated previously by others, you have to build fast or lose because Russia and England are taken in 5 or 6 rounds. Very seldom do they last past 8 and if thats the case, it is only because I have the bulk of my units in England as the computer either lost its own units or moved them so far out of position, the computer cant move them back to England.

Usually they all end up in Africa someplace. It leaves you more than enough time to biuld up and more often than not you have to locate the base and then destroy it - which usually isnt much of anything. The flame thrower infantry and the flame tanks are nice, I haven't figured out the purpose of the tankette and it seems rather useless.

Also the Germans seem lacking in infantry and mechanized support. Russians and Japanease have sniper units - individually they're pointless, in mass devestating. The Germans do have Goliath tanks but very weak as infantry and can be wiped out with ease. It would have been nice to be able to change positions in the campaign mode, playing Rommel rather than Rundstedt excuse spelling please at Normandy or play the Japanease on Iwo Jima.

It also would have been good having troopships, subs, warships and carriers on the world map. Being able change existing maps would have been a big plus, particularly those in campaign mode. There are three or four - but I can't seem to be able to use the editor all that well.

As far as I know, it's the only Axis and Allies game that works on windows 7. Thanks alot micro-soft! One person found this helpful. I bought this game from "Gone Gold". It got here 2 days earlier than it was supposed to. The install instructions were very clear and easy to read. Game was in very good condition. Works perfectly with no crashes on my "Windows 10". Best RTS game ever. I bought this game for my husband. He would give it 5 stars. I would give it 2 because I loose him for hours.
